At Sonia Parisi Art, I want you to feel confident and happy when purchasing an original artwork or commissioning a painting created especially for you. Each piece is individually painted, and I take great care in preparing your artwork for delivery.

1. Purchasing Original Artwork

Original paintings available for purchase can be ordered directly through my website.

All artwork is individually created, and every effort is made to represent each piece as accurately as possible, including its size, colours and textures. Please be aware that colours may appear slightly different depending on your screen, browser and device settings. Small variations between the online image and the original artwork are therefore not necessarily considered a fault.

Once your order has been placed, I will prepare your artwork carefully for dispatch or delivery.

2. Payment for Original Artwork

Payment can be made securely through the payment options available at checkout, including PayPal and card payments where offered.

If you would prefer to pay by bank transfer, please contact me before placing your order so that payment arrangements can be confirmed.

For original paintings priced over £500, instalment payments may be available by prior agreement. A payment schedule will be agreed before the purchase is confirmed, including any deposit required and the date the remaining balance is due.

Artwork will normally be dispatched or delivered once the full payment has been received, unless an alternative arrangement has been agreed in writing.

3. Artwork Commissions

I welcome enquiries for bespoke paintings created around your ideas, memories, colour preferences and personal requirements. Every commission is individually developed, making it a personal piece of artwork created specifically for you.

The Commission Process

Step 1: Initial discussion

We will discuss your ideas, the intended size, materials, colours, subject matter, budget and preferred timescale. This helps establish a clear brief before work begins.

Step 2: Written agreement and deposit

Once the details have been agreed, I will provide a written commission agreement confirming the agreed artwork, price, payment schedule, estimated completion date and delivery arrangements.

A deposit will be required before work begins. This secures your commission and allows me to allocate time and materials to your painting. The deposit amount and any subsequent payments will be agreed with you in advance.

Step 3: Creating your artwork

Your painting will be developed in accordance with the agreed brief. As each piece is created by hand, slight variations in colour, texture, composition and finish are a natural part of the artistic process.

Any substantial changes to the original brief must be discussed and agreed before proceeding. Changes may affect the price and completion date, and any additional costs will be confirmed with you first.

Step 4: Completion and final payment

Once your painting is complete, I may share photographs with you where appropriate. Any agreed final payment will be due in accordance with your commission agreement, normally before dispatch or delivery.

Step 5: Delivery or collection

Your completed painting will be carefully prepared for delivery or collection, as agreed when the commission is confirmed.

Commission Prices and Payment Arrangements

The price of a bespoke commission will depend on its size, complexity, materials and the time involved in creating it.

Your total price, deposit, any interim payments and final balance will be confirmed in writing before work begins. Please ensure you are happy with the agreed brief and payment schedule before confirming your commission.

Changes to a Commission

If you wish to make changes after the commission has been agreed, please contact me as soon as possible.

I will consider reasonable requests where possible. However, changes may not be feasible once the painting is underway or completed. Any additional work, costs or changes to the completion date will be discussed and agreed with you before proceeding.

4. Cancellations, Returns and Refunds

Original Artwork Purchased Online

If you purchase an original painting online as a consumer, you will generally have a 14-day period after receiving the artwork in which to cancel your order under UK distance-selling rules, subject to applicable exceptions and statutory rights.

If you wish to cancel, please contact me at info@soniaparisiart.com within the applicable cancellation period. I will explain the return arrangements.

Unless the artwork is faulty or does not conform to the contract, you may be responsible for the direct cost of returning it, where this has been properly explained before purchase. Artwork must be returned with reasonable care and securely packaged. Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

Bespoke Commission Cancellations

Paintings commissioned and created to your specifications or clearly personalised for you are generally exempt from the usual 14-day change-of-mind cancellation right.

However, if you need to cancel a commission, please contact me as soon as possible. I will consider the stage the work has reached and any costs already reasonably incurred, including materials purchased and work completed.

Any amount retained or refunded will be assessed fairly in accordance with the commission agreement and applicable law. A deposit is not automatically non-refundable in every circumstance.

If I need to cancel a commission, I will discuss this with you and arrange an appropriate refund for payments relating to work that will not be carried out, taking account of any applicable legal obligations.

The bespoke nature of a commission does not remove your statutory rights if the artwork is faulty, damaged or does not conform to the agreed description or contract.

If Your Artwork Arrives Damaged or Has a Problem

Please inspect your artwork as soon as possible after delivery. If it arrives damaged or you believe there is a problem, contact me at info@soniaparisiart.com as soon as possible and include photographs of the artwork, packaging and any visible damage.

Please report delivery damage within 48 hours where possible, as this can help with shipping claims. This request does not limit or replace your statutory consumer rights or any legal time limits that apply.

I will work with you to resolve the issue appropriately.

5. Packaging and Shipping

Every original painting is carefully prepared and packaged to help protect it during transit.

UK Delivery

I aim to dispatch in-stock original artwork within 5 working days of receiving full payment, unless otherwise stated or agreed.

Made-to-order pieces and bespoke commissions will have an estimated completion and delivery date agreed with you.

Delivery times may vary depending on the courier, destination and circumstances beyond my control.

Complimentary local delivery may be available within 50 miles of my studio in Glasgow, G69, by prior arrangement.

If you require delivery by a particular date, please contact me before ordering so that I can confirm whether this is possible.

International Shipping

International shipping may be available, depending on the destination and the size and requirements of the artwork. Please contact me before purchasing so that I can confirm shipping options and costs.

International orders may be subject to import duties, customs charges, taxes or other fees imposed by the destination country. These charges are the responsibility of the buyer unless otherwise agreed.

Delivery times for international orders can vary, particularly where customs processing is required.

6. Copyright and Use of Artwork

All original paintings and commissioned artworks remain the intellectual property and copyright of Sonia Parisi unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Purchasing a painting gives you ownership of the physical artwork, but it does not transfer copyright or reproduction rights. The artwork may not be reproduced, copied, commercially used or licensed without my prior written permission.

I may wish to share photographs of completed commissions on my website, social media or in my portfolio. I will seek your permission where appropriate and respect any agreed restrictions, particularly where personal photographs or private details are involved.

If you would prefer your commissioned artwork not to be shared publicly, please let me know before the commission begins so that this can be recorded in our agreement.
